John Nixon IIIPastor Nixon was born to John and Januwoina (pronounced Ja-von-a) Nixon in Brooklyn New York. He is the oldest of 3. He grew up the son of a pastor and thus moved very often. He has lived in 7 states, 9 cities and 11 houses. His father is currently the pastor of the Collegedale Church in Collegedale Tennessee.

Pastor Nixon is a product of Christian Education. He attended San Gabriel Academy/Elementary in Southern California, and South Lancaster Academy in South Lancaster Massachusetts. He received a BA in Theology from Oakwood College in May of 2000. He completed his Masters of Divinity degree at Andrews University in 2004 where he finished with honors. Pastor Nixon met his wife when he was 13 years old. His father, then a pastor in Massachusetts, was invited to speak at the South Atlantic Camp Meeting. Elder was the Youth Director at the time and was responsible for the invitation. Naturally, the inviting pastor was responsible for hosting the visiting pastor. It was while the pastors were talking that their children began to notice each other. They dated for 3 ½ years at Oakwood College. Most of their time was spent together on choir trips as they both sang in the Oakwood College Aeolians. In December of 2000 they were married at the Berean SDA church in Atlanta Georgia. On February 12, 2005 April gave birth to their first child, John S. Nixon, III. Their second child, Julia, was born 2 ½ years later on August 3, 2007.

Pastor Nixon began his ministry with the South Atlantic Conference in June of 2000. He has pastored in the Milledgeville/Dublin district in Georgia, the Greenville/Travelers Rest district in South Carolina, and currently serves the Immanuel Temple SDA church in Durham, NC.

Pastor and Mrs. Nixon had a life changing experience in July of 2001 when they were in a near fatal car accident. It was then that they realized that the Lord still had a great work for them to accomplish. They rededicated their lives in service and devotion to Him after that tragic experience. It is their hope that as they serve people God will use them to fulfill His will by spreading the good new of His second coming.
